World leaders, climate scientists and policymakers will meet in Baku, Azerbaijan from 11 to 22 November at the 29th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP29). Confirming their commitment to tackling climate change is the key output anticipated around the world from this event. ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥'s work in all eight thematic areas – Aerospace, Manufacturing and Materials, Transport Systems, Defence and Security, Environment and Agrifood, Energy and Sustainability, Water and Management – is relevant to COP. As a global university with students from more than 100 countries, sustainability is evident in all our educational and research programmes. Playing our part in transitioning the economy to a low or zero carbon future is paramount.
