Background
John is an investor, advisor and non-exec to growth businesses, with long experience at middle and senior management in large corporates and SME companies.
Originally a software engineer, his corporate career included successful marketing, commercial and business development in the US and UK, across telecommunications, banking, and upstream oil & gas.
In 2005, John joined a small MBO’d company as Finance Director alongside early-stage private equity investment, and was integral to the company’s turn-around, growth and sale to a FTSE-100 buyer, with a £30M valuation at exit.
Post earn-out, John worked with another BGP company initially as non-exec advisor to the board, then investor and later full-time COO, growing the business 5-fold to $25M turnover, and to a trade sale in 2022. Post acquisition, he became COO of the combined business.
John holds a Masters in Engineering from the University of York, and an MBA from ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥; John undertook BGP in 2006. He has been a BGP Counsellor since 2014, and also runs a BGP advisory board.
